Lore

Lore pages describe the world the group plays in: its places, factions, magic, history and words. Session notes record what happened at the table; lore is the background the story happens against.

The Lore overview

Each campaign can have one overview page, the first thing people see under Lore. It also appears on the campaign's front page. To start one, open Lore and choose Write the overview. To make a different page the overview, open it and choose Set as overview from its options.

The overview is always shared with everyone in the campaign.

Write a page

Open Lore and choose New page. Give it a title and write the page. Owners and members can write lore and edit shared pages. Viewers can read shared pages.

Use Visibility to choose who can see the page:

  • Everyone: every member of the campaign.
  • Only me: only you. Use it for drafts, or for something you are not ready to share.

Revise a page

Select a passage and choose Revise. Write how it should change, preview the suggestion, then apply it. The rest of the page stays as it is. Revise page does the same for the whole page.

Covers

A page can have a cover image. Choose Add cover to upload one, or Generate cover to create one from the page's text. Drag the cover to reposition it. A campaign owner can turn on automatic covers for new lore pages under Campaign settings → AI & Generation.

Open a compendium entry, choose Add link, then Lore, to connect a page to a character, place or faction. Linked pages show in the entry's connections.

How AI features use lore

The Chronicler can read lore pages you are allowed to see. Entry summaries only use shared pages, never private ones.

Lore is treated as a description of the world, not as something that happened in play. The Chronicler will not tell you the characters learned something just because a lore page says it; that comes from session notes.
