Campaign roles and privacy
Campaign roles
Every campaign member has one of three roles:
- Owner: everything a member can do, plus inviting and removing people, campaign settings, export and deletion.
- Member: reads the campaign, writes session notes, edits entries and reviews suggestions.
- Viewer: reads the campaign without changing anything.
Owners and admins of the workspace the campaign belongs to have owner access to every campaign in it. An archived campaign is read-only for everyone.
Invitations
Owners invite players from the campaign's members page with Invite players, by email or with an invite link, and choose the role when inviting. An invitation belongs to the email it was sent to, and that email must be verified before it can be accepted. If an invitation opens under the wrong account, sign out and sign in with the invited email.
A role cannot be changed after the invitation. To give someone a different role, remove them and invite them again. Report an invitation you did not expect rather than joining it.
Owner responsibilities
- Invite only the people you mean to.
- Remove former members.
- Do not share invite links publicly.
- Check what is in the campaign before making it public.
- Upload only content you are allowed to share.
Campaign privacy
Campaigns are private by default. An owner can turn on Public campaign in the campaign settings, which lets anyone with the link read the whole campaign as a viewer, even without an account.
Inside a campaign, session notes and compendium entries are visible to every member. Lore pages and map pins can be kept private, so only their author sees them.
Do not use RealmBinder for health records, financial data, government identifiers or other real-world sensitive information.
Leaving a campaign
Members and viewers can leave with Leave campaign on the members page. A campaign always needs at least one owner, so the last owner cannot leave. There is no ownership transfer yet: invite another person as Owner first, or archive or delete the campaign.
Reporting access problems
Contact support with your campaign URL, account email, the role you expected, who invited you, and what you can or cannot see.
