Campaign settings and import
Campaign owners manage each campaign from Campaign settings in the campaign's sidebar. The settings are split into General, AI & Generation, Theme, Import, Export and Usage.
General
- The campaign's title, description, game system and timezone. The timezone is used for session dates.
- Public campaign, which gives anyone with the link read access, even without an account. Check what is in the campaign before turning it on. See Campaign roles and privacy.
- Archive campaign, which makes the campaign read-only for everyone. Unarchive it to make changes again.
AI & Generation
- Campaign language: the language AI-generated content is written in.
- Guidance for AI generators: optional instructions for tone, terminology and style across the campaign.
- Enable AI image generation: turn off to stop generated covers, session images and character looks in this campaign. A workspace's plan or settings can also turn image generation off.
- Art style and Image model: how generated art looks.
- Auto-generate note cover photos and Generate lore covers automatically: create a cover when a note or lore page is added.
- Allow connected AI assistants to use this campaign: see AI assistants.
Theme
Pick a visual theme for the campaign: Realm, Modern, Eldritch or Starforge. The Dark mode switch here changes the appearance for you only.
Import existing notes
Bring an existing campaign into RealmBinder with Import. You can upload Markdown files, paste Markdown, or upload a RealmBinder export ZIP.
- Add files. A Markdown file with frontmatter becomes one note. Without frontmatter, a file can hold several notes, split at top-level headings. Titles and session dates are detected from the headings,
Date:lines or frontmatter. Open How it works on the import page for the exact format. - Player characters. Files marked as player profiles become player characters. For each one, choose whether to use an existing character, create a new one or leave it out.
- Review notes. Check titles and dates, remove anything you do not want, and choose how to handle the text: Rewrite notes turns each note into readable prose, while Save original keeps your wording and still links campaign entries.
- Start import. RealmBinder saves the notes, then works through them in order to build the compendium, quests and timeline. Large imports take a while, and the page shows the progress.
A RealmBinder export ZIP restores its notes, entries, links, images and character looks as they were, instead of generating them again.
Export and usage
Export downloads the campaign as a ZIP; see Exporting and deleting data. Usage shows this campaign's AI usage; see Session notes and AI.
