Discord
RealmBinder can be added to your group's Discord server, so players can look up the campaign and ask the Chronicler questions without leaving Discord.
What it can do
The Discord bot is read-only. It can open compendium entries and session notes, and answer questions about the selected campaign. It cannot change the campaign.
Responses are private: only the person who ran a command sees the reply. The bot does not ask for permission to read or post ordinary channel messages.
Add RealmBinder to a server
An owner or admin of the RealmBinder workspace installs it once per Discord server:
- In RealmBinder, open Integrations → Discord from the sidebar.
- Choose Install RealmBinder in Discord and pick the server.
- Approve the requested access in Discord.
Discord is available on eligible workspace plans. If the Discord page says Subscription required, the workspace's current plan does not include it.
Link your account
Each person links their own Discord account once per server:
- In the server, run
/realm link. - Open the private link the bot replies with. It expires after 10 minutes.
- Sign in to RealmBinder and choose Connect accounts.
Your RealmBinder account must belong to the workspace that installed the bot. Joining one of its campaigns through an invitation is enough.
Commands

Start typing to search your campaigns./realm compendiumopens a compendium entry from the selected campaign./realm sessionsopens a session note from the selected campaign./realm askasks the Chronicler a question about the selected campaign. You only see campaigns you can read in RealmBinder, and the bot follows your campaign role. If you lose access to a campaign, the bot stops answering about it.
Manage the connection
Open Integrations → Discord to see each connected server, your linked account and the selected campaign. From there you can:
- Reset conversation to clear your Discord conversation.
- Unlink Discord to remove your link to that server.
- Re-register commands, or Repair commands when the server needs attention, if the
/realmcommands are missing or out of date in Discord. Workspace owners and admins only. - Disconnect server to turn the bot off for that server. This unlinks everyone and closes their conversations. It does not remove any campaign data. Workspace owners and admins only.
Signing in to RealmBinder with Discord is separate from the bot. See Accounts and security.
Common problems
- "RealmBinder is not installed for this Discord server." A workspace owner or admin needs to add it first.
- "Your Discord account is not connected to RealmBinder." Run
/realm link. - "Select a campaign first with /realm campaigns." Run
/realm campaignsand pick one. - The link expired. Run
/realm linkagain for a new one. - "Organization access required." The RealmBinder account you signed in with is not in the workspace. Sign in with the invited account, or ask the workspace owner to invite you.
