The Chronicler
The Chronicler is RealmBinder's campaign assistant. It answers questions from your campaign's session notes, compendium and lore.
Ask a question
Open the campaign and choose Chronicler. Ask in your own words, or start from a suggestion such as Catch me up on the latest session or Find loose threads for the next game.
Good questions name what you want to know: "Who did we leave in charge of the mill?", "What do we know about the Ashen Court?", "Which quests are still open?"
Owners and members can use the Chronicler. It is turned off for viewers.
Conversations
Each conversation is kept so you can return to it. Use New conversation to start fresh, and the conversation menu to delete one or clear them all. Your conversations are your own.
Changes it can propose
When you ask, the Chronicler can prepare a change to the campaign:
- Create a compendium entry or a player character.
- Merge two entries that are the same person, place or thing.
- Add your note to an entry's Player notes.
- Generate a cover for an entry, or draft a character look for a player character for you to approve on the character's page.
- Change a quest's status.
Most of these appear as a card with Approve and Reject. Nothing is saved until you approve, and rejecting leaves the campaign unchanged.
Images
Ask the Chronicler for a picture of a scene and it can generate one in the chat, using the campaign's art style and any approved character looks. Image generation can be turned off for a campaign; see Campaign settings and import.
Accuracy
The Chronicler only knows what is in the campaign. It can still get things wrong, merge two people or miss context, so check its answer against your session notes before treating it as canon. See Session notes and AI.
Questions about RealmBinder
The Chronicler can also answer how-to questions about RealmBinder itself, such as how to invite players. It answers from this help centre and links the page it used.
On Discord
The Chronicler is also available in Discord with the /realm ask command. See Discord.
